Goodwood Revival 2023

Le Goodwood Revival 2023 a une fois de plus envoûté les passionnés de voitures anciennes et de culture rétro, en célébrant l’âge d’or de l’automobile et de la mode des années 1940 à 1960. Une véritable capsule temporelle, organisée depuis 1998 grâce au maître des lieux, le duc de Richmond.

Machine à remonter le temps

Cet événement annuel se tient sur le célèbre circuit de Goodwood en Angleterre. Construit autour d’un ancien aérodrome de la WWII, il est connu sous le nom de RAF Westhampnett. C’est d’ailleurs ici que les pilotes étaient formés au pilotage des Hurricanes et des Spitfires. Le festival réunit des milliers de spectateurs et de participants venus admirer des voitures de course historiques dans un cadre exceptionnel. Ils ont la chance de voir en action des modèles légendaires. Citons les Ferrari 250 GTO, les Aston Martin DB1 et les Jaguar Type E, tout en étant immergés dans une atmosphère nostalgique, où chaque détail, de la décoration aux costumes, fait revivre l’élégance d’un autre temps.

Compétitions sans artifices

Les véhicules d’époque ont rivalisé sur le circuit, offrant des moments de grande intensité. Le festival est un des rares endroits sur Terre où il est possible de voir ces véhicules aux valeurs inestimables pour certains se frotter les uns aux autres. Avec parfois de la tôle froissée. Les courses, telles que celles du St. Mary’s Trophy ou du Goodwood Trophy, ont vu s’affronter des pilotes de renom comme Tom Kristensen et Dario Franchitti, aux côtés de passionnés amateurs. Ces compétitions sont un véritable hommage à l’héritage des courses automobiles du milieu du 20e siècle. Chaque virage, chaque accélération, est un spectacle en soi.

Un parfum d’antan

Outre les courses, le Goodwood Revival 2023, c’est également une immersion dans la mode de l’époque. Chaque visiteur et participant sont invités à se vêtir selon le style des années 40, 50 et 60. Les vastes paddocks, les boutiques vintage, ainsi que les spectacles de danse et de musique créent une ambiance unique, presque cinématographique.

Vincennes en Anciennes

Acteur du patrimoine roulant francilien, Vincennes en Anciennes est devenu incontournable. Depuis 2001, cette association organise la « Traversée de Paris ». Événement biennal par excellence, l’édition hivernale a été organisée à 22 reprises, traditionnellement la deuxième semaine de janvier. Les 15 éditions d’été ont eu lieu à la fin du mois de juillet. Toutes deux consistent en un parcours partant du Château de Vincennes, autour de monuments parisiens. Comme Montmartre, la Concorde, la Tour Eiffel, le Quartier Latin et les Invalides. Evénements majeurs dans le domaine de la collection de véhicules anciens, ils rassemblent jusqu’à 700 véhicules, mêlant voitures, motos, solex, vélos, tracteurs et bus de l’époque. Ses créateurs ont voulu rendre hommage au roman de Marcel Aymé porté à l’écran par Claude Autant-Lara, avec les immortels Bourvil, Jean Gabin et Louis de Funès.
L’association est devenue le plus grand club multimarque de France. Chaque premier dimanche du mois, un rendez-vous est donné sur l’esplanade du château de Vincennes. L’occasion de rencontrer d’autres passionnés autour d’un petit déjeuner. Comme lors des traversées, l’éclectisme est de mise. Une Fiat Dino immaculée côtoie un Messerschmidt KR125 atypique, à la grande surprise des badauds, des curieux ou des joggeurs passant au petit matin devant le bois.

Retromobile 2019

Retromobile – 2019 edition – is always a milestone on its own. A remarkable rendez-vous between dreamers and custodians making classic automobile still alive. Unsurprisingly, when the automotive field moves towards AI and autonomous drive, that is in all likelihood the future, we tend to explore the past. The origins, either it be accessible or not. Fiskens, Peter Auto, Lukas Huni AG and Richard Mille bring the most exclusive and expensive art pieces. This last owns a large collection of genuine F1: Niki Lauda’s 1984 Mclaren MP4/2, Ayrton Senna’s 1988 MP4/4, Team founder Bruce McLaren’s 1969 Double Wing M7C and 1970 M14A (cover picture), Button and Hamilton’s 2011 MP4-26. Quite a CV. Next to those Retromobile 2019 gems sit few others formulas like a Porsche engined 1991 Footwork FA12. Even Renault came to its big stand with a 1977 GP winning RS10.

Festival Automobile International 2019

The Festival Automobile International 2019 is once more a high-end vintage. Displaying the 504 coupé-inspired Peugeot E-Legend, that in my opinion is more looking like a frowning 505, let’s be honest. The €6M Bugatti Divo ultimate car designed for corners, taking its name from the 1928 & 1929 Targa Florio winner. The Formula E Gen2 looks like being straight out of a Batman movie universe. Pretty original, an asymmetrical DS X E-tense having two uses: do drive or be driven. Renault presents the autonomous EZ Ultimo. A vision of the car to be a home’s extension/copy-paste. Note the losange exterior body layout being Renault badge nod. More contemporary, the Mercedes Maybach Ultimate Luxury Vision: says it all. Finally, two very exclusive Ferraris: the SP38 inspired by the 308 GTB and F40 and a 812-based Ferrari Monza SP1.

Festival Automobile International 2018

This edition of Festival Automobile International 2018 awarded the Alpine A110 as the most beautiful car of the year 2017. As usual, collectible and rare classic such as an iconic Delahaye 135M are displayed. But not only, because this is purposefully a concept car festival. Under the tent: a matte orange BMW Z4 concept, or a Kia Proceed GT Concept onboarding a virtual cockpit-like display and metallic red interior panels. Exclusive models such as a McLaren 720S and the yacht-inspired Maybach-Mercedes 6 Cabriolet. Super futuristic electric Lamborghini Terzio Millenio and its actual ICE racing little sister Super Trofeo. Renault came with the F1 R.S. 2027 Vision. Note the hexagonal turbine pipe slot inspired by the Renault badge and a hexagonal mesh cockpit that let the driver be seen from spectator view.

Festival Automobile International 2016

Four main concepts and classic cars were displayed this year at Paris’ Festival Automobile International (2016). We begin with the Lamborghini exhibition (Espada, Islero and Miura) proving that their original design’s purity never fades. Bugatti’s W16 1500bhp Vision Gran Turismo, coming from the videogames world and virtually drivable only. This iteration is the Chiron’s announcement. Another hommage is taking shape under the lines of BMW’s CSL reusing the white layout with red and blue stripes. Mercedes comes also with the IAA Concept (Intelligent Aerodynamic Automobile), an autonomous vehicle lab onboarding variable aerodynamics for efficiency and economy.

Collection Schlumpf

The Collection Schlumpf in Mulhouse, France is the world’s biggest Bugatti collection (123). Among those, a Bugatti Type 35B 1929 that was the last variation to borrow this number. Presumably this place’s and even automotive absolute masterpiece, the Bugatti Type 41 Royale Coupé Napoléon/Coupé du Patron, Ettore Bugatti’s personnal car. Recognizable thanks to the posed elephant radiator cap. Then, a yellow Bugatti Type 55 being a road version of the Type 54 and a modern 1001 bhp W16 Bugatti Veyron 16.4.

It contains many other rare classics. 423 vehicles on over 560 gathered are classified as historic monument. Such as the Ferrari Type 312 B 1970 that raced in Grands Prix by Jacky Ickx, Clay Regazzoni and Mario Andretti. One of 8 1955 Mercedes 300 SLR Formula 1 car, or a Mercedes SSK.

Festival Automobile International 2015

The Festival Automobile International (2015) takes place again and henceforth at Invalides’ esplanade. Taking the place of honour: Alpine with the Vision GT concept. It is one of the two present models creadted to be virtually playable in Gran Turismo. The Aston Martin DB100 celebrates the 100th anniversary of the company, and is the second model not to have an all-but-real-life future. Heritage concept cars take the places of honour. BMW M1 Revival, Jaguar F-Type Project 7, F12 TRS and special edition Porsches are displayed here below.

Coupes de Printemps 2013

Significant races are held at the Autodrome de Linas-Montlhéry since the twenties. The Coupes de Printemps 2013 are an opportunity to celebrate old glories. Either it be racing car or GT. Jack Brabham did win here in 1957 and Jim Russel in 1958. Between 1964 and 1966, Graham Hill, Jochen Rindt and Jackie Stewart came round the track. Another competition, the 1 000 km of Paris is still considered as the most influent race for the autodrome’s evolution with those following registered: Aston Martin, Ferrari (250 GTO, 330 P…), Ford (GT 40 and MK2), Lola, Maserati, Matra (630 to 660) and other Porsche (from 908 to 917).

The Beginning

Le Tour Auto 2012 comes alive again thanks to Patrick Peter. This retrospective version gathers every single ressource that was yet involved in its international fame. Our splendid Dino, as well as many other never-fading-beauties, can revive this bluntly high-end historic race after being exhibited in this landmark. Satisfying the condition to join as a 1951 to 1973 TDF’s participant car.

For this 21st edition, 300 participants of this Tour Auto 2012 start from Paris, 17th April at dawn. They reach Beaune that evening, Aix-les-Bains on 18th April, Clermont-Ferrand on 19th, Nimes on 20th and Nice the 21st, with special phases on racetracks at Dijon Prenois, Charade and Paul Ricard, completing about 1.800 kilometers.
