An early rainy spring car meeting let some wet tyres at the Autodrome of Linas Montlhery. It follows the path of another local scheduled gathering called Coupes de Printemps. Most of those wheels come by their only means, creating a traffic jam outside the stadium. Once each driver pass checked, they go through the banking’s structure before arriving in the paddock. Reverbs just like any tunnel. Thrills more than just any other tunnel. Let’s point out late-arriving visitors going under the vibrating track thanks to vehicle passings and exhilarating notes!

The Festival Automobile International (2015) takes place again and henceforth at Invalides’ esplanade. Taking the place of honour: Alpine with the Vision GT concept. It is one of the two present models creadted to be virtually playable in Gran Turismo. The Aston Martin DB100 celebrates the 100th anniversary of the company, and is the second model not to have an all-but-real-life future. Heritage concept cars take the places of honour. BMW M1 Revival, Jaguar F-Type Project 7, F12 TRS and special edition Porsches are displayed here below.

The Festival Automobile International (2014) has been created in 1986. It took originally place in Chamonix, then Place Vendome in Paris and henceforth at Invalides. Many cars are displayed there either it be concepts or early productions. Two red gems as the chinese native Icona Vulcano and the new DS Wild Rubis including a shiny glassy face grid paying tribute to the SM. Designers from Renault created a detailed map of Paris obtained by material-removal technic for the Espace Initiale Paris’ roof. Also displayed: hypercars like Porsche 918 Spyder, and coupés like gullwing-opening doors Opel Monza, BMW CS Gran Coupé. Finally, Peugeot Onyx concept made of copper and carbon for the exterior panels; felt, wood and recycled newspaper for the interior.

What is the Lotus Afterwork? A sunset friday’s evening well-earned break with super lightweights. The Hethel-based car company is renowned for the production of racing cars, F1 World Championship entries with Senna and Prost, and kit cars: Lotus Eleven & Sevens (Caterham will follow). Two or four seater road cars with the Elan – Excel – Elise and James Bond’s related « Esprit ».

With their futuristic or open-wheel look and an extolled iconic leitmotiv from founder Colin Chapman (see below), Lotus gained easily public sympathy. You can enjoy pure pedigree driving sensations with a reasonnable budget. Everything get accessible. Clubs are gathering in every places of France and abroad. This Montlhery event is just an example of this enthusiasm.

This special gathering is known as a trending phenomenon for decades. Taken back to the rest of the world from California. Once a month on sundays: cars and croissants. Cars and Coffee Paris’ remarkable attendance is the result of the large range and rarity of rides. Organized by Emotion Auto Prestige club, a hundred of vehicles is taking place at Saint-Cloud’s racetrack, 5km from Paris center. It has become a breeding ground for spotters, classic lovers, casual visitors, tuners and supercars amateurs.

Significant races are held at the Autodrome de Linas-Montlhéry since the twenties. The Coupes de Printemps 2013 are an opportunity to celebrate old glories. Either it be racing car or GT. Jack Brabham did win here in 1957 and Jim Russel in 1958. Between 1964 and 1966, Graham Hill, Jochen Rindt and Jackie Stewart came round the track. Another competition, the 1 000 km of Paris is still considered as the most influent race for the autodrome’s evolution with those following registered: Aston Martin, Ferrari (250 GTO, 330 P…), Ford (GT 40 and MK2), Lola, Maserati, Matra (630 to 660) and other Porsche (from 908 to 917).
